Project Coordinator role summary.

Thanks to funding from The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, Tackling Loneliness programme the VC Gallery is looking to employ an Ex-Forces member or individual who has worked with the Armed Forces Community to operate Naafi breaks every weekday morning in Pembroke Dock for general chat and company with other veterans, organising the purchase of and supply of refreshments and to help individuals to access digital platforms with an aim on reducing social isolation and loneliness.

This role will coordinate the project called ‘Naafi Break and Beyond’ and require good documentation skills, evaluation and reporting to management and The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. Having a deeper understanding of how loneliness occurs, how we can mitigate against these issues and learn how to identify and engage veterans would be a successful part of the project and evaluation.

This key aim of identifying more male and female veterans within Pembrokeshire will require taking our mobile museum to various sports venues, village halls etc to meet ex-Forces personnel wherever they might live which means a car and driving licence is a requirement of this job. They will also be required to network with local and national organisations to promote the work of The VC.

This role will also incorporate visits to residential homes or homes of veterans with mobility issues to help with engagement.

We work with vulnerable client groups therefore it is essential they hold the following qualities.

  • Non-judgemental approach
