A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

As part of the creative process, we worked with early-onset dementia and the elderly who were socially isolated. The VC Gallery designed a technique utilising multimedia and Google Maps to recreate stories of someone’s past. By getting participants such as Rene to take us on a tour of her hometown via Google Street View, she was able to engage in this nostalgic session. She had the chance to relate her life to us via the visuals, reminiscing on how things had changed during the passage of time. We then created artwork to show the streets and places she remembered as a young woman.
